It was a roller coaster experience!! Infosys technologies visited my campus for the first time and it turned out to be a cracker of a day. The day kicked off with Infy’s Pre-placement talk. That was a quite inspiring talk. We had three colleges attending the campus drive with us. So, it was officially a holiday!
After the PPT we were made to sit in classrooms and attend their first round, which was a tough one to crack! It was like an end sem exam. It was a piece of pie for me, and for most of my friends. The test got over at 12pm. But we had to wait till 3.15pm to know the results of first round. I was through to the next round. Unfortunately most of my friends didn’t make it, which was disappointing. Then I gotta change my attire to get a professional look. I have never worn such a formal dress. I had to wait till late evening to attend my interview. My interview was held at my college library. You should note how well I acted to impress the HR person. My interviewer was a 50 yr old respectable person. Here’s how the interview went. Note pannungapa note panungapa!!
“Hello Subash, Good evening man!!”
“Hello sir, good evening!”
“Come on, sit down!”
“Thank you sir.”
“So your name is Subash Chandra Bose?? What do you know about Subash Chandra Bose?”
“Sir, He was a great leader for many. He fought for our freedom from the British rule. He started INA. Blah Blah. . . . .”
“After that??”
“After that. . . .”
“After that, what else he did?”
“Sir, I’m not sure about it. I’ve read it in my history classes. But I don’t know now.”
“You should know it man. The first thing what you’re goin to do tonight is, just get to know everything about him. Right?”
“Yes sure sir!”
“ Then your academic performance in this college is not good compared to your 10th std. Oh you did diploma as well? What happened Subash?”
“ Sir, the system during my diploma course is simple. Just four theories and two practicals for every sem. But here we’re having 6 subjects along with three laboratories! One subject is mathematics which was quite difficult for me coz I didn’t had Maths in my diploma period. Apart from Maths I did other papers well.”
“ Not bad. 7.8.”
“Hmm yes sir. JJJ”
“Wokay! What do your parents do??”
“Blah blah blah. . “
“ Do you have any brother/sister?”
“Yes sir. I have a brother who’s doing final year DEEE . . . . .”
“ Younger brother??”
“Of course, sir”
“ You’ve mentioned something about football. Do you play?”
“Yes sir, I used to play football during my school days.”
“ In what position??”
“Striker. . Forward. .sir. . ”
“ Good!!”
“JJJJ”
“Why you didn’t play for your college?
“Since, I’m a dayscholar and my home is 25kms away from here. . . . .”
“Oh I expected.”
“Hmmm .. .”
“Wokay Subash, that’s it from me. Do you have anything to tell me??”
“!!!!”
“ I think you don’t have anything to tell me. Alright! Best of luck son!”
“Thank you sir!!”
That’s a nice way of ending an interview. I had to wait till 8pm to know the results. I’m one of the 37 students who were placed in Infy. Then, you should have guessed what happened next. Congratulations all around!!! JJJ
